    1995 pantera classic

Ok bought my first bass boat last yr a 1989 16.9xl kingfisher. Like the boat but to small so I just bought a 95 basscat pantera classic. I've always wanted a bass cat and now I have one. Its a restoration project carpet, sets etc light work but worth it. The boat is rated for a 200 outboard but I have a 91 black max xr4 150 with a 10" inch set back jack plate and a 21 pitch lasser 2. The king Fisher the motor is on know is very light so I can get a easy 6k rpm out of it and do mid 70's. This bass cat is a 19ft boat and heavier should I switch props out? Like run a 23 pitch. What's a good high for the jack plate on this type of boat? And what kinda of speeds could I encounter with the 21 pitch if I decide to keep it.

That classic only weighs 1250 lbs so it's pretty light. 3 1/2" under pad is a good place to start and use the 21" prop. Speed depends on how many rpm's you can turn the prop. You can't get mid 70's from a 21" prop turning 6000 rpm's. That 10" plate might be too much set back for the older Classic boat a 6" is all it needs.

23 Yamaha M will be the quickest prop. 23 trophy will be a bit smoother.
Ten inch plate is a no no, cat voids warranty on anything more than six.

No matter what you do when you fill up the livewell it’s going to be a pokey holeshot.
    With a 150 it’s going to run about 61ish.

Ride better than most 19 footers and is a very dry ride.

Awww jees I gotta read better.
XR4? Original small gear case? If so your prop choices are thin.
Lazer is the right prop but you have to get it worked or it falls on its face with a load.

Plus that motor has a funky small power band. You have to prop it to run right at 5,800 with a load.

Good luck with it. I hate that motor go find a 200 EFI and you’ll have one of the best 19’ boats built.

Yeah pat original gear case. It rolls like a champ on the back of that 17ft. Ill stick with that 21pitch for a now I plan on getting a 200 next year. Or my cousins has a 93 black max 200 I might swap out. Thanks for the replies guys.
