My all time favorite was a Loomis 803 glx with recoil guides. Tip got shut in a rod locker though. The new replacement Loomis sent, 2017 version, doesn't hold a candle to it. Still a good rod though.

Another vote for the ALX Deputy! They are right, you can do almost anything with that rod. Especially with a SV Steez

Legend Tournament Sweeper Spinnerbait 7’ MHM.
if I have to pick only one rod to fish for the day, that’s it. Not much you can’t do with that rod.

The 704 is the only rod I have multiples of. It can throw a jig, worm, spinnerbait, or a trap with no problem.

You beat me to it! I have tons of high end rods: Loomis, Megabass, St. croix, Kistler, etc. My old BCR803 GLX has to be my favorite. Not a better 1/4-3/8oz worm or jig rod ever made in my opinion!!

    Honorable mention: Megabass Nautilus

I've been wanting to get a Deputy to try out as well
I have a Dream that I really like, and a Skipper on order. I don't know if you can go wrong with any of the ALX Zolo rods.

While I've got a couple of high $ rods, most of my really favorite rods were quite inexpensive and are now quite elderly. Shimano Speedmasters, a couple of BPS Pitchin Stick series, a Denali Jade, several Quantum Energy, etc. I tend to like a rod in the store, but when I get it out on the water, it can take me awhile to find a reel, line & lure combination to make me happy with the rod. And then, it's pure bliss!

My K2 765 with newer aldebaran on it (mine is the 2016 model currently) but if I wanted to go a little less expensive my Kistler 7'3" LMH Helium is great...I find myself tryign to fish techniques so I can use that rod....
Where are the BIG ones? When are we going?

My Loomis NRX 854C always puts a smile on my face paired with a Revo MGX. Light as a feather and ultra sensitive. A close 2nd is my Dobyns Champion Extreme 745 paired with a Revo Premier.
