Hatfield-McCoy trails in West Virginia. Good central location for several of them is Ashland Resort in Northfork, WVa

We always go to the Hatfield and McCoy trails in southern West Virginia. They have about any kind of riding you want to do there.

Yes, including on the highway in a lot of areas.

We have been on planning to make a trip. Is a certain trail good to ride? Or what would you suggest for a weekend ride like what part of the trail?

There is another huge trail system just north of Oak Ridge, Tennessee and they allow ATVs, UTVs, rail buggies and dirt bikes. People come down from Pennsylvania with flat bed trucks packed with toys.

Trails go into the mountains 40 miles.

The Hatfiend-McCoy system is 600 miles of trails in several areas.

You pick an area that has a name and you can spend a weekend just riding one area.
If you stay at Ashland or Trail Heaven, you can do Pinnacle Creek, Indian Ridge, and Pocahontas areas with no trailering.

Rockhouse is rough starting out due to a lot of rocks---I don't enjoy riding that area.

It's $50 each for a permit to ride those trails.

$50 for an annual permit includes all of them. Expires the end of December.
