    Prop selection Yamaha 250

I have a 2003 Gambler 2200 with a 2003 Yamaha Vmax 250 ox66. I am currently running a 27pitch T1 prop and am experiencing poor performance overall, slow hole shot (unless I drop the tabs) and poor wot speed. Just barely touching 70 mph at 5600 rpms jack plate at 4 and trimmed out. My question is what prop should I be looking to try for top speed (don’t really care about Holeshot because I have the tabs). I see a ton of threads for guys running Mercs asking prop questions but not many for us Yammi guys. I appreciate the help.

I don't have much experience with yamaha motors but you should try a 26 Bravo and possibly a pro max. I run a 209te with a 250xs(about to be 300xs) and the beat prop i have run is a 29 tempest worked by croxton. The boat was a little scary to drive at 86. The bravo only hits 83 but it is easy to drive. The pro max is 82 mph.
I don't know if any of that helps you.
