Their good for about 85. You rigs year model is a tad lighter, but coning or going sporty might actually slow you down.

My boat with a 30 promax had this issue. Real hard to the right. I'm at 1.25 above with a sporty. Put a bolt on torque tamer thing on the keg and it took that right out. Didn't lose speed either.

I think T-Racer is referring to a torque tamer like this.

If your gear case has an 1-1/4" prop shaft it is a torque master which already has a torque tab cast into the skeg. With a few pics we could tell for sure. Either way, TM, verado, fleetmaster.....all should be no higher than 1/2" BELOW.

I have a tournament there Sat if you want to try one of my props Ill throw them in. If you want to change out lowers I have a sportmaster with 1.62 I can bring a few wrenches and we can do that in the parking lot if the lakes cleared out enough for a safe run or you could come down to hudson or the river on gibson on sunday. Im to the point I can get free on weekends now if you want to meet up. Also Perch here at Chouteau Marine is a wealth of information. He is/was a dealer and he has raced and fished from most brands he will give you a straight up answer.

The higher an engine, the more it will try to push the boat to the right due to the paddle wheel effect with the prop only slapping the water mostly on the bottom 1/2 of it's diameter and pulling the rear of the engine to the right. A torque tab is needed to help counter act this.
A good picture of the rear of your boat and of the lower would be to your advantage for any of us to give you a correct answer to your question!

Post some pics of your LU, kinda sounds like you already have a torque tab.

Your lower has one built in, don't install one over it!
