The wife and I want to move there too within the next few years and we have pretty much narrowed it down to the east side of lake hartwell. All of the area between the town of Anderson and the shoreline of the lake are beautiful country. Close enough to the town, shopping, Greenville yet far enough away to still be country and quaint.

No offense to anyone but I would look up the crime rates for Iva. That area is very rough. There is a reason you can't keep a car window if you launch at some of the launch ramps on Lake Russell near Iva. They threw a piece of rip rap through the back window of my buddy's SUV at one of the ramps. The glass went all the way to the front and got into his A/C which he had to replace. My Dad has had his windows broken on his truck and a brand new Expedition keyed at those ramps. Pure trash.
Yeah, I have been checking crime rates. Some of those small towns are shockingly high.
Iva has had that reputation forever. Had some equipment stolen there and sheriff's office didn't even want to come out lol!
