    Cavitation at high rpms ????

Wot 51mph. Mercy laser 2 in a 125 hp Mercury. Barely get any trim out of it before it cavitates and I all but lose steering. Boat will be all but out of the water. Noticing other boats having rooster tail makes me wonder if motor is too low , but I would think that would mean my prop is biting

What hull and prop pitch? Does sound like the motor is too high. Not sure but 51mph out of a 125hp, you may be ahead of the game anyway.. Anyway, in my experience, most Astro/Procrafts don't throw much rooster when setup right. Just around the top of the cowl is normal, unless you have one of the rarer "speed" hulls. I have no "on water" experience with those.

Neither of my Procraft's have thrown a rooster tail. If you are cavitating I would say the motor is too high.
