    USA Front deck seat support?

Hey y’all I’m in the process of replacing the carpet in my 03 and I removed the front seat support. Has anyone left it out completely. I don’t use a seat up front very much. Was wondering if I was to install one a holder that you typically can buy at academy ( a flat plate with a whole in the middle) if the front deck would still be rigged enough to old the weight of people on it and the pressures of a pedestal seat. The only reason I’m considering leaving it out is so I can put a tackle storage system under the front deck. Any thoughts y’all.

My best guess is it should hold.. but would have a lot more flex which could lead to other problems later.
The ones I've seen also have a support glassed in that runs the width of the deck in line with the seat hole. I think it's aluminum. best I recall its about 6" wide.
I would call Darris and ask..

I would suggest leaving the support under the deck. Like Mike stated, it could flex and lead to other problems.

No way I would take it out unless I had some support ribs glassed to the underside of the deck.

It is not worth the risk. Do some more figuring on your storage.

i am going to redesign the support structure. it will still have the same load rating but will give you the ability to access the front of the boat easier. I cant ever leave something alone. lol. will post a picture of the design once built

Want to do mine when you're done? I'd like to Make it use a Springfield type seat mount (similar to Ranger).

    Thx!

You could do some sort of “A” brace instead of the single pole thats right in the middle.
