I don't think this living with mom is the a bad of an idea after this week of work, fixing my cars every night, running the kid around, wife sick as a dog, doing my taxes, paying my bills and figuring out I need more money. vs sitting in the basement eating cheetos, and playing video games, with dinner put on the top step? Hmmmmmm

Generation Y/Millenials
- Born between 1981* and 2000*.
- Aka “The 9/11 Generation” “Echo Boomers” America’s next great generation brings a sharp departure from Generation X.
- They are nurtured by omnipresent parents, optimistic, and focused.
- Respect authority.
- Falling crime rates. Falling teen pregnancy rates. But with school safety problems; they have to live with the thought that they could be shot at school, they learned early that the world is not a safe place.
- They schedule everything.
- They feel enormous academic pressure.
- They feel like a generation and have great expectations for themselves.
- Prefer digital literacy as they grew up in a digital environment. Have never known a world without computers! They get all their information and most of their socialization from the Internet.
- Prefer to work in teams.
- With unlimited access to information tend to be assertive with strong views.
- Envision the world as a 24/7 place; want fast and immediate processing.
- They have been told over and over again that they are special, and they expect the world to treat them that way.
- They do not live to work, they prefer a more relaxed work environment with a lot of hand holding and accolades.
Not sure if I'd call myself a millennial, but I was born in 1984 and been on my own since I was 20.

I used to always tell recruits that being in the military is better than living with mom and dad....We will give you an allowance, Room and board, give you a safe space to play video games and shoot pool, Give you places to drink beer within walking distance of your "dorm" , Pay you to travel the world, Won't loose our minds if we find porn in your room or are up all night with Judy rotten crotch...etc etc...Really what more could young people ask for..lol..
Seriously though...Don't forget that 100s of thousands of these millenials are deploying in and out of combat zones every week...It sure isn't us old folks carrying the load anymore..
I always felt like millennials were ages 18-30.
.
Born in 84... moved out at 18 and went to college. I cannot think of a friend my age that does live at thier
parents house still.
Perhaps some of the problems the millennial generation has is the generation that raised us.
I think some are confusing "Millennial " with " Millennial Snow Flake "....
I live at home. Get along great with mom and dad too.

I have seen the millennial range, and I am on the boarder of the dates. I think I am a gen x tho. 38yrs old, siblings are all younger than me and have 45 cousins all ranging from 45-25. Only one lives at home with his dad, he just got back from the military and is getting his civilian life started. None of my friends growing up live with their parents. We were all ready to get out and be on our own.
More of the "my generation is better than your generation" b.s..
I hope my kids never leave home!
For some reason this reminded me of a story on JB Hunt (founder of Fortune 500 company JB Hunt (trucking)). A friend of mine said he visited with him years ago and JB told him that he dropped out of school in the 6th grade and said it was the biggest mistake he ever made...he then said he should've dropped out in the 5th grade!!
