I can’t help with your question but I noticed the pic in your avatar is rotated. This link is to a tip that will show how to take pics on the iPhone that will appear correctly when uploaded to the forum.

I've seen this before. I had a buddy not understand how to rig batteries in series and he ran his 24 volt trolling motor for years on 2 batteries hooked up in parallel (12 volt system). Don't know how it worked but it did. Pretty much the same deal as the OP. 12 volts less than what the trolling motor wants, but enough to make it run.

To answer your question, yes, if you have a 24 volt Ultrex and you have 2 trolling batteries rigged in series (with a jumper wire), you will have a proper set up.

a 36 volt system is not going to work with only 24 volts, was not designed to

Lol it works on 26.4 volts... i got a used boat that had a 3rd battery in the back of the boat in series but only a 2 bank charger hooked up to two batteries that were right there. We got to charging the three by a 3 bank but all three pairs of leads were on the close two batteries haha

You need to find someone to install it for you. High voltage dc circuits are nothing to mess with. Things can, and do, burn.

I have had a battery go bad several different times during a tournament.
They will work when you loose a battery but at a notable loss in power. Which in turn drains the remaining battery/batteries much faster.

You can run a 36 volt troller at 24 volts, but it is neither an efficient nor smart thing to do on a long term basis. You will have less thrust, your batteries will deplete faster, and, most importantly your troller will generate more heat resulting in long term damage.

some of them can be, but not all. The Ultrex and Ulterra both have voltage specific control boards, so they have to run on either 24 or 36V as they are designed.

If there is some additional component that combines the starting motor batteries with the trolling motor batteries, yet isolates it when starting the big motor, it will work. otherwise, you're either running the TM with 24 volts, or you're starting the big motor with 36 volts !! Trying to run the TM with only 24 volts will damage the TM, or the Batteries, or BOTH.
