I went with pro-tech Matt for the front deck, original Syntec carpet from ulrich marine here in Mo. and adhesive through birdsong adhesive, cost me around $600. That is all higher end material in my opinion.

I just did my 2000 186 and it ran me $212 dollars plus a gallon of glue and prep stuff. I came out beautiful if I say so myself. Also replaced my seats with LeBroc models. It's like a new boat.

I purchased my carpet at Ingle's Carpet.

Not hard at all. As with anything, prep is the biggest job. Strip and clean everything. Follow the sticky in the Restoration Forum on how to do corners and you'll be pleased knowing you saved a ton of money and self satisfaction. I keep my boat at a lake in Mexico. I popped all the compartment lids off and re-carpeted them in my garage here in AZ. All intermediate pieces i peeled off the deck and used them as templates for new pieces. Worked like a charm.

Take your time and think things through before doing anything. I have never done a Champ but have several other brands. Most people need to measure twice and cut once. In my case it is measure 3 times and cut once.
