    VZ200TLRD Low Pressure Fuel Pumps

What are the top 3 reasons or symptoms you would change the 2 low fuel pressure pumps on this motor?

    Thanks in advance

Mine didn’t leak. I replaced just due to age.

Alot of smoke at start up, cutting out or jerking at high rpms and I changed mine 5 times in 12 years. I bought the electric fuel pump (as talked about on this forum) and then sold my boat after changing fuel pumps. If you are interested in installing electric fuel pumps, I'll sell mine with relay kit. 160.00 TYD. Instructions are in this forum,do a search...

Here is my issue, After towing the boat for more then 3+ hours to fish, The motor cranks like it wants to start, almost like its flooded, I trim the motor all the way down let it rest for a minute or 2 and it starts rough and with more smoke then normal.

So I'm guessing the low pressure pumps are leaking back while trailering ?

The easiest way to check the pumps is to loosen the two bolts on each pump. Pull pumps away from block and pump the bulb. If fuel leaks from pumps, they are bad....

That is correct, If I'm going to check them I might as well change them. I'm trying to figure out if that's the starting problem as noted above.
