Disturbing story about some of our best Texas lakes ,,,

Saw this story today while reading online news.

Somewhat depressing, as I was planning a trip this season to Falcon Lake.

Was planning? Now your not coming? I go down there often, lots of fishermen down there and they don't have any problems at all. I've been all over that lake as far into Mexico as you can go and never an issue. They are killing their own down there not the American fisherman and the reason is smuggling people across to the U.S. And not paying the tax to the cartel. That's why they have a monitor in the Salinais on the south side of Falcon. Go down there, if you don't feel comfortable stay on the Texas side, there's plenty of good fishing on our side.

As Afar as Amistad is concerned, I feel safer on the Mexico side of the lake than I do in Del rio. Matters a fact, I'm headed down there next week

Just waiting to get a power pole for my boat. I understand it can get quite windy on Falcon.

That's an understatement, you better plan on a south wind and unload at the state park down south. Ultrex will be more important than a power pole later in the year.

So the Ultrex can hold spots many times during the day with a 24-volt system?

That’s old news. While the cartels have fought it out over the last 10 or so years there have been many 10’s of thousands of homicides in Mexico. The news here in the US doesn’t cover it, it doesn’t fit their libtard agenda. The worst thing that will happen to you on Falcon is getting hung up in a Gill net.

Ouch that may be a little difficult but later in the year they move out deep and that power pole won't do you any good.

The scariest thing about going to Falcon is the hangover after hanging out with those boys from southeast Texas... and a Yankee or two.

If you are going to Amistad a power pole wont be needed. The lake is to deep just off the shoreline. Its basically a flooded canyon. Casting distance to the shoreline your boat is usually sitting in 20 feet or deeper water.

I disagree. Power poles would be handy fishing the rock flats in the middle Amistad.

I was just down there for a week 2 1/2 weeks ago, My trip got cut short because my engine burned a piston. It just got finished being repaired this am so Im heading back....

I would think with a 50 horse youll be fishing mostly on the usa side. Id launch at tiger island if I had someone with me to pull the truck out while I motored on the trailer.

The launch is down a gravel road and you have to open a gate to get to it and then pay $3 its just a dirt bank but its right in the thick of some great fishing. The launch is real shallow and I tow with a rv (alone) so Id have to get wet to launch and pull out there each time or Id do the same for sure.

I'm not familiar with the these places, I can count on one hand how many times I've been able to anchor up on that lake. Ultrex is the best piece of equipment you can have down there.

Crank bait bite would be good and save the U.S. Taxpayers at the same time.

If you hang your crankbait up, just jerk a rib loose and reel it in !

Our Championship was won on these flats I speak of last year and power poles played a big part in that win because of the wind!
