    Few RT 188 Upgrades

Just a few little projects that I thought would help my fishing trips out a bit. Thought maybe someone would find them useful as well.

    1) Added a stainless 12" piano hinge to the center step lid. Riveted the hinge to the rod locker side and used 1" screws to secure it to the lid.
    2) Added a spring to support the door
    3) Saved myself some $ and went to target and bought a poly cutting board and covered the hole left by the Hook 7, and installed an HDS gen 3
    4) Fabricated a nice little board to hold my most frequently used lures. I used clip board clips that I got from Walmart for $1 each, and some aluminum angle that I found at Lowes.

Did you add a shock to the door with the lures hanging on it?

Yes i added gas struts to both front storage compartments. It was a pretty essy install. I feel that as much as these rigs cost, the struts should be included from factory.

Don't worry. It's in a Ranger. Did you know Noah's Ark was a Ranger? It was made of wood and it carried all of God's creatures.

Looks really good. What did you use to attach that piece of wood to the door?

I just used three self tapping screws and secured it to the aluminum support piece that runs along the length of the lid.
