    Network cable?

If I only want to network link a helix 9 si and helix 10 si together is the only option to use the ethernet cable and two qde adapters? Is there not a direct cable with the proper end available? I have people telling me they make one but I don't see it on the humminbird chart for options?

That is your only option. "They" do not have any other option.

If you had two SOLIX units, then you don't need to use the AS EC QDE adapters.

The AS EC QDE gives the Helix units a quick disconnect for Ethernet in the cable collector along with the power and transducer cables.

The 8X8, 9X9, 11X7, 11X8 series units have the threaded Ethernet port like the ONIX and SOLIX does.
Starting with the XX9 models, the Ethernet connection was changed to the quick disconnect method and that carried over to the Helix models.

The first units to have quick disconnect Ethernet was the HD models in the 700 series.
