Is the Yamaha the same hub kit as the Merc? In other words if one wanted to take the Yamaha Prop off of the 2003 150HP Yammi and then install a Merc Tempest can you use the same exact hub kit?
Questions are for a friend. Boat is a 2003 Champion Any negatives putting a Merc prop on a Yammi?

If it's a square bore prop you should be able to use the hub kit in a tempest but most older Yamaha props were pressed in rubber hub props which can't be inter changed. Ask him if it's a Yamaha prop or another brand.

The hub kits are not the same. All you will have to order is the Yamaha hub kit which is basically a Delrin sleeve, washers and a nut.
I run a Tempest on my Yamaha, only thing I had to change the was thrust washer.
