I wish there a product like this for the TM shaft to cover the ducer wire.

Yes, that would work as long as it didn't slide up and down. Just something other than my current setup of tie wraps that slide out of place or you have to cinched them down hard causing a possible cable cut. I also sometimes have grass that gets caught between the ducer cable and shaft.

Ideally a neopene cover like the troll saver would be great for me.

Here's the setup I used with electrcial spiral wrap. I no longer worry about the tie wraps falling down and the ducer wire has a bit more protection. I bought the spiral wrap from the borg for $2.98

By saying "it frays", do you mean is starts to unravel like if you cut a rod sock? The stuff I used is solid material (polyethylene) a few wraps of good electrical tape will hold the ends down.

I've used the braided rod sleeves on wiring coming out of my counsel. Get some liquid electrical tape and coat the last inch or so of the ends to keep it from unraveling.
