Can you guys assist a ole Merc Guy please ??

My brother bought this 25 Yamaha from a guy he works with. The SN is very hard to read. I need a water pump kit for it and I imagine one of you guys know which one it takes. By my research and the Y on the tag I think it is a 1995 model year. Any help appreciated.

    Thanks,

I think the 695 indicates it as built in June 1995.

This is incorrect. The 695 is the engine class. You need the model # to get parts not the serial #. Looks like it's going to be hard to make out also. If you can read the serial and not the model call Yamaha and they should be able to tell you what the model # is.

695 is the prefix for the complete engine ID. It denotes the basic model type. A C25 model in this case. Which can be barely made out from my reading of the label on the motor.

Look on the block for the alternate serial number label. It is usually in the vicinity of the starting motor if there is one.

The complete engine id will be 695S and then the numbers. Usually six or seven digits. The S is for short shaft which I can see on the motor label.

You can see parts for a 1995 C25 at the website linked below. The water pump parts will be the same for virtually all C25 models.

Notice that the CDI for the C25 begins with 695, the same prefix that is used on the label on the motor.

    Sorry for the bad info.

I know that Yamaha currently has a manufactured date on the bracket.
