    45" or 52" Trolling Motor on a 2100?

Changing the TM out to a foot control Minn Kota on my "new to me" 2100SC. Do you guys prefer the 45" or the 52" Trolling Motor. I dont fish off shore a lot but I feel like I would want the 52 on choppy days. Thoughts?

45 on mine I think a 52 would hit the front pedestal

I have the 45” Fortrex on my Outlaw, it’s fine unless it’s real rough and at that point I’m probably not fishing in it anyway! I have had a 52” on a stratos and if you fish in a lot of grass it can be annoying.

I have a 45" on mine and have to slide it all the way up in the mount when Flipping in shallow water with me and my buddy both on the front. I've never had to drop it all the way down because of rough water but the lakes around here in the mountains don't usually get as rough as the water in flat country.

This was the golden nugget I was looking for. I fish out of grass on Okeechobee and other Central Florida lakes 90% of the time. Every now and then I wander off shore but I probably wouldn't do it in really rough water anyway.

I think I will go with the 45"

    Thanks!

Yup. I have a 45 inch fortrex and the trolling motor has to be nearly all the way down in the bracket or it hits the seat pole.

There are certainly times when I am fishing the Great Lakes that a 52" shaft would come in handy. That being said for your situation I would certainly recommend a 45" shaft length.
