    2000 TR19 relay issue

Hey guys. I’ve been cruising here for a few years now and wanna say thank you to everyone who posts here with info. I’ve learned more about my boat from this site than poking around the boat myself. I’ve owned this boat now for a few years. I’ve had limited time to fish tournies due to work. However I’ve had it out to my local lake several times and it’s a great little boat. I’ve been having a problem with the master power relay under the dash. It works so intermittently. One day everything works and the next it don’t. I’ve changed the relay out a couple of times and nothing. Changed out the battery. Cleaned all connections. Check all wires that are visible. I can’t understand why it keeps doing this to me. I plan to finally fish a tourney season this year and am just looking here to see if anyone has had the same problem with their boat and what they did to fix it. I’m pretty good with working on my boat so I’d like to fix it myself before seeking professional help. Thanks in advance.

When the problem occurs do you have power at the coil side of the relay?

The two terminals with the smaller gauge wire.

I’m not sure. It goes in and out motor running or not. I can be sitting in the boat at home working on stuff and it will just click in and out.

Then the problem is the switch that excites the coil.

I agree with savage. It sounds like you have a bad switch. Also Check the connections hooked to the switch. May have wire loose or corroded there.

Something has to energize the coil on a relay, such as a Main Power switch/button, Accessory switch/button, or ignition switch/button......

Test voltages, don't just swap parts, it could be a wiring problem.
