First Time to Detail the New Boat

I'm going to detail my boat for the first time. I'm asking for guidance on the procedure. Here is what I plan to do:

    1. Empty boat of all contents
    2. Vacuum boat
    3. Wash boat (exterior mainly and top cap) with with Meguiar's Marine Boat Wash
    4. Dry with chamois cloth
    5. Wipe down boat with Lucas Slick Mist
    6. Clean cowling with water and vinegar
    7. Wipe tires with Armour All tire shine

Please chime in on my thought process, as I've never had a new boat to detail before.
    Thanks in advance.

Lucas slick mist for everything except the vinyl. Its 303 protectant that. Vinegar and water to get the water spots off. I think your good to go.

Don’t forget the trailer. My trailer has armor guard and after cleaning with soap & water I like to use Meguiars tire shine. Makes it look brand new.

I would use 303 Protectant on the tires as it has a UV protectant in it and will protect the tires from sun damage. I've personally never known ArmorAll products to do anything other than dry out rubber and plastic.

Meguiar's and Lucas are excellent products.
You should try the ProTec system just once to see the results. It absolutely makes maintaining your boat finish much easier. I use Wash and Gloss, Nu-Paint Moisturizer, and Sealant Polish once a year to clean, seal, and polish the hull. After that I just wash it occasionally, and then Nu-Finish Rapid Shine Foam Detailer when I wipe it down at home, or at the ramp. Takes the scum line right off without scrubbing.
Just a suggestion. You'll be glad you did it.
And 303 is the only thing to use on vinyl. Good stuff.

I've always adhered to the theory that the outside of the boat is technically being washed every time it's in the water and the inside is technically being washed every time I fish in the rain.

Listen to Razor. Get some Pro Tec sealant and put two coats on, with a day between coats. I do that a couple of times a season. Makes a big difference when you use a sealant. I switched from Slick Mist to Eagle Wax as U Dry Marine for regular wipe down simply because it contains carnuba, a UV inhibitor.

If your going to "detail" it, use some good sealant wax after you wash it. I'd wash it with dawn dish soap to get all the other polishes, waxes and crap off, then seal/wax it with pro tec....

I've pulled my Cat out a few times in a pouring Summer rain and let it get soaked really good in the driveway. Clean any spots on the carpet, pull the plug, and let it get drenched. Then ShopVac it out in the shop, and turn on the fans until the Sun comes out and I can pull i outside. Best time to wash a boat is after it's gotten soak by a good rain.

Don't neglect the bilge. I usually spray mine down with bleach water. Keeps the mold down.
