None will be wide enough if you drink a lot while fishing

Did it seem smaller or bigger than the 196?

I personally think you will be fine with a 721. However, it’s not the boat for you if you are looking for a wide front deck. I was going to go with a 721, but ended up with a 921 because my other boat is a s520, so I was used to a wide front deck. The 921 isn’t as wide as the z520, but it’s much Closer than the 721.
Mall that being said, go stand in the 721 with a few rods on each side. I bet there’s plenty of room for you to be comfy.

Yeah I knew that but it looks like the 618 and the 721 aren't much different as far as width.

I saw that. 2" more isn't enough difference to consider much different.

I did measure my Triton again and was surprised. The 721 is wider in every place except for at the trolling motor pedal. Which I like for casting clearance.

I guess big front deck is relative. It was huge for me coming from a aluminum and big for boats in that era. Not really huge considered to today's boats. I'm back on board! Now to decide if it is worth the extra width for the 920. I didn't really want a 21' boat as I like the backwaters too. The 920 sounds perfect but the price doesnt.

Definitely bigger. I have no regrets making the upgrade.

Have you looked at the 919? It’s 19’8” with a 96” beam. That will be wider and longer than your 196 and less money then a 920 or 721 but just as fast touching 80mph when properly set up.

...and those measurements are the '09-'16 model. The '17 and up are an inch or 2 wider at that point.

Looks like someone needs to update that page.

Maybe "Early models" & "Late models"

Or "2016 and earlier" and "2017 and later"

I came out of a TR19 into a 920 and have never looked back. I usually have 8-10 rods on the front deck at any time and have not stepped on one yet. Wish I could have said that for the TR19.

Wish Phoenix would go the wider body styles like Ranger, Nitro, Legend, and Falcon.

The 900 series have a 96” beam and a wide nose. How much room do we need to catch fish?

You go as wide as you want up front, but the ride will suffer.

The 921 has a 96" beam with the front deck being very wide. I think it has one if not the best ride of any bass boat for a soft landing when hitting waves. just my .02
