Some help
Anybody know the difference in the heads between a 3.1 200 and a 225
-
Dont think theres any difference.
-
Was wondering 2 different part numbers
-
What are the two part numbers?
-
Part no for 200 66x-11111-00-1s. Part no for 225 62j-11111-01-1s

Given the two different part numbers there has to be some difference but darn if I can determine exactly what it is.
What I think I can say with confidence in that the 66X prefix head is used on VX200 models. The 62J prefix head is used on S/L/SX225 models. All are known as OX66 EFI motors.
The 200 models have a different compression ratio than do the 225 models. So I would stick my neck out and hazard a guess that it has to do with how the head is cut to obtain the desired compression ratio.

I would agree with yam911 however, knowing that compression ratio is almost identical on both motors by doing a compression test, the only way to know for sure is to measure cc (with liquid) of both heads.

A VX200 is shown as having compression ratios of 5.4:1 in 1 ~ 4 and 5.2:1 in 5 & 6.
A VX225 is shown as having compression ratios of 5.9:1 in 1 ~ 4 and 5.7:1 in 5 & 6.
