Helix Gen 1 Transducer Questions.

I just picked up a pair of new Gen1 Helix's (9 SI at the bow and a 10 SI at the console) and was wondering what my best option for transducers are. I have heard of people "upgrading" the factory ones and was wondering if it is worth while before i get them installed.The bow mount unit is planned to be mounted on my Terrova. Also looking for info as to what people use for mounts/gaurds on the trolling motor as well. I am sure this has been discussed on here before but i could not find it on my searches.

Yes it has been discussed dozens of times.

The one that comes with the Helix 10 is better than the one that comes with the Helix 9. That is what most exchange for with a new Helix 9 SI unit.

The best/most sturdy mount is the ones that Transducer Shield and Save makes

My $.02 would be to put the 9 on the console and the 10 on the bow.
