I use a graphite rod...MH- Fast action...lets me rip the chatterbait out of grass...also chatterbaits have a jig hook in em so I want a rod where I can get a good hookset on the fish and it'll stay pinned on a "jig" rod just fine.

I just bought a 736CB for deep cranking, sounds like it will get some use in the spring as well as a chatterbait rod.

    ALX Rods IKOS Series Hustler
    ALX Rods EXPERT Series Crankbait

Both are awesome choices when using a glass rod.

I have 2 Dobyns 683 and they are good. But a friend of mine bought me a Bass Pro Carbonlite 6'9" Med Hvy Extra Fast tip and I like it even more.

I throw mine on a 6'6" ugly stik, zebco 33 platinum and Stren clear blue. I don't get all the professional over runs in the wind and I don't worry about breaking the rod on hooksets. Win, win for me. I've caught 1000's of bass on this set up so far this year.

If you really believe you need a special rod for chatterbaits I'm guessing you still believe in Santa Claus. Any mh rod will do just fine.

I have used a 6'8" Crucial, I think it is a MH with a mod fast tip, and 15 lb fluoro and I have done quite well with it. You can really feel the vibration of the bait and you know when the vibration suddenly changes, that a fish is sucking the bait in. I wouldn't be opposed to using a glass rod or a composite rod to see if it works better though.
