I think he is talking about the center step in between the seats. it's called a coin box. It has two cup holders and a small compartment lid for oddball items. I just picked mine up yesterday and it has this. the coin box has a solid step for going to the back deck, very sturdy. They are available from ranger but not sure of cost. Like it much better than stepping on the middle seat back.

I believe I read another post somewhere that the coin box that was previously found on the 198 is now an option for the 188. Not sure of the cost of if it is now a direct bolt on for previous 188s. A year ago or so I think the cost of the box was around 500$. I'm curious about this as well. I would really love the coin box on my 2017 188.

I had it installed at the factory when I ordered the boat. It cost $253.00 and I'm pretty sure you can order one straight from Ranger.
Nice! I got one for my RT188 when I ordered it. I liked the one in the 198p when I checked it out at the dealer.
