The 225 is 475. Gonna be hard to add much displacement and only add 30 lbs
The experts say V8 4.6 liter 535 lbs no blowers 250 and up HP.
What experts?
Mercury is keeping a tight lid on this...Someone needs to spill the beans!

I hate the sound of it. The 2 stroke Mercury outboard is dead. But I heard it yesterday from enough people that are in the bidness that I believe it to be true.
Confirmed it’s a 4.6 v8 fourstroke
4.6 v8 four-stroke. Close in weight to pro xs. Tremendous torque, better fuel economy, better warranty. You can order mid May. No more pro xs can be ordered I'm hearing. Warranty work may take longer in power heads for pro xs too
They now have 3.4 V6 four strokes from 175 to 225.
The rumor I read about was two blocks, a 4.5 and 4.8L V8 being run on Lake X. HP from 300 to 450.
I don't know what block they will use for the 250. The 3.4 weighs 475. The lightweight champ by 30 pounds.

2 stroke racing motors discontinued in May this year and soon after the 4 stroke v-8 racing engines will be available. Hopefully that means sportmaster lower units...............
