our heavy rangers will never be able to spin a 25 I don't think - 23ish would be the highest pitch prop I would think.

It spins it currently at 5200 rpm at a paltry 59 mph and a slow finicky hole shot with no pvs plugs
Wondering in i could get pitch reduced and add some cup for an acceptable hole shot and pick up some top end. No jackplate
25high five gets awesome holeshot and 62 but after reed change hits rev limiter and last 400 rpm add no speed.

pretty certain that your supposed to be aiming for 5750. The high 5 is great for skiing, shocked your'e getting 62 with it.. is that GPS? a 23p would probably do great for you. each pitch is roughly 200 rpm. I think that max you can mod it is 2 degrees so you could get it adjusted down. Send it to mark croxton in the props board.

or just sell it and get the right size. you can probably sell it for what a good used one would cost (300ish)

I had a 2000 Viper Coral 202 with a 2000 Merc 225 EFI that I had for 12 years or so. Great family boat that you can tournament fish out of and not feel outclassed by all the dedicated bass rigs. I ran a 25P Tempest and could see 70 on gps with just me and normal fishing load. Add a buddy and it dropped to 67 - 68 which is pretty good for a fish & ski. I used to enjoy running off and leaving the older heavy Rangers which couldn't match the Coral's hole shot or top end. I'm in a Skeeter FX21 250SHO which i love but I still miss my Coral, especially when I have the family out.
