got 92 361 v ......any one install a ultrex 45 or 52". your thoughts on this, how was the install
and any problems with it? going from a fortrex 101 to an ultrex 80 24v... 45" shaft.
if so how is the 45 working for you?

If you do a YouTube search for Russell Marine Products, Justin has a video where he walks through the entire process of installing an Ultrex. 45” Ultrex should operate very similarly to 45” Fortrex, other than the obvious difference in features. I went the opposite a few years ago, going from a couple of 80 lb. Fortrex to 101 lb. Fortrex. All were 45”. At certain speeds, you cannot tell the difference, other than the 36 volt motors have more reserve power. And of course, at top speed they are faster. For me, only if you run at 80% or greater, a lot of the time, will you see a significant power advantage (on that size boat) from 24 to 36 volt. But the 36 volt can pull at high speed for much, much longer without draining the batteries completely.

I just sold my 1996 391 I had the Ultrex 80lb 24 volt with 45" shaft no problem at all. You should be good to go on the 361. See the link below for pictures.

I am almost done with my install on 91-361. 45” 80# ultrex. Only issue is getting the mount bolted on, hard to get my arm in there to work on the nuts for the bolts, primarily on the front two in bow.
