    New Trolling motor / 2000 20xd

OK heres the deal .... I have two older MG trolling motors ..... Both are ss shafts .... Both are around 70 lb thrust / 24 v systems .... One has a bent shaft & has been sitting on my shelf like that for over 10 yrs .... The other is on my boat & to be honest has always seem louder than normal .... I'm thinking I should update before I retire here in the next year or so .....The one with the bent shaft worked fine when I put it up .... Thought Id ask here what you guys would recommend before I looked into putting new shafts in my back up ...

If you are looking to repair the ones you have, contact Jones Trolling motor on here. Mr Jones is a board sponsor and he can help you on repairs.

Don't mean to cut out a board sponsors but I see he's in Cincinnati. Try Rods trolling motor repair out by east fork lake. His daughter was running the shop. They have always done real good work.

I don't remember where he is, but mine broke on Tuesday and I called him from the lake. I had my parts on Thursday and was fishing again on Friday.

Checked one out and it was only $2300.00, pocket change for some. My trolling is still on my boat and
at that price it will stay there. But, going to retire, I would get a new 80 lb or so for your boat. On the other
hand you can never get a trolling motor to big,

Worth it if you can swing the price. My motorguide quit and it didn't make sense to buy anything other than an ultrex to me. Worth every penny to me and there was some serious penny pinching to get it.
