And what is the teacher going to do ask the shooter to wait while he gets his weapon?
Most shootings will be over before you could load a gun much less open a safe.
Whatever class my child was in, I would want the teacher to retrieve gun from electronic safe and have it pointed at their classroom door when they heard shots.

Sorry for the confusion, my remark was about social issues and not allowing folks with reports of having behavioral issue having guns.

As if you have a dispute with folks that report you of making threads or abuse, that get put on your record.

You expect to find that many volunteers?
Lots of schools, hours and days to cover.
Not to mention multiple entrances, etc.

I'd have no issue at all with a .25 local tax raise for guards. They could stop bullying, fights and this garbage.

Treating symptoms isn’t appropriate and it’s actually terribly un-American.
Remember the Boston Tea Party? Add a high tax to weapons if you want.
Since that’s what you are suggesting schools need to be protected against.

Lol Im not saying tax weapons and others means could be used to kill. Want to tax home made bombs? Pressure cooker tax?
How would a gun tax help with fights and bullying?

This isn't America anymore. we have no shame and we parade around demanding respect that is not earned. We are truly dumb enough to believe everything we read on the internet and then cry fowl when we should've known better. We even let people run for our highest office after criminal activities are uncovered in their past. We don't hold our elected officials accountable and we are to comfortable spending other peoples money. This is a race to the bottom, kneel for the pledge all you want cause that country died years ago. As a vet of this nation I'm going fishing and I will wait for the coming shitstorm with a sharper mind.

I do not think gun control for law abiding citizens is answer. My problem is with our justice system. Tax payers are going to pay for this problem child's lawyers, and if not put to death, they will feed him and give him all the benefits thugs in prison get. Parents of these murdered young people will have to pay for all burial expenses. Our laws are for the criminals, not for the victims! Criminals get room and board, free lawyers and what do victims receive? Some have to go on welfare.

State of Florida said they will be picking up the tab for all the Funerals. Doesn't help much.

The 1st time that a student is caught in the crossfire between a teacher and bad guy, and killed, these friggin boards will be lit up with threads about how the training was insufficient and that teachers shouldn't be allowed to carry. Hell, most teacher threads on here deem all teachers as liberal nuts that are indoctrinating the kids. How are we ever going to find one that knows which end of the gun to hold?

I don't know what the answer is to stop these senseless shootings but, I know that posting dumb chit on social media and message boards like "Ban Forks" won't do a damn thing to solve it.

My daughters school does. They have them installed on every door. They also have to buzz you in to the main entrance. Local donations by parents paid for it.

I am glad your school did this and found a way to pay for it. I sincerely hope it provides some comfort to the parents. I am afraid however, that the next shooting will be at the bus stop at dismissal, at the football stadium on Friday night or on a field trip. This shooter found a way around the new "lock down" procedure by just pulling a fire alarm. The next kid will just buy a bump-stock and go to the High School party that he wasn't invited to or the church camp, etc..... Most of these kids take months to plan these attacks and nearly all are willing to die in the process. Making it harder for them to do this and taking steps to minimize the carnage are still our best options, but if this doesn't include the most obvious step (limiting access to military weapons) I am afraid we will not stop these invents, just change the venue.

I know of a few teachers that have gun permits, Hickok 45 the youtube gun guy was a teacher for years and wasn't allowed to carry his gun into the schools.

just put up signs" gun free zone" or "no guns allowed on premises" seriously it's sad the system failed to prevent this kid from carring out this act, maybe less russia probing and watch our own back yard.
