    New updates available from Garmin

    https://www8.garmin.com/support/software/marine.html

I hope it fixes my issue with GPSmap automatically powering on when plugged in to power.

Changes made from version 10.00 to 11.00:

    • Added support for NMEA2000 standard alerts.
    • Added support for displaying Seakeeper alarms.
    • Added more precise controls for displaying MARPA alarms.
    • Improved sonar ping rate.
    • Improved visibility of rocks and pilings when symbol size is set to Smallest.
    • Fixed an issue with the display being too dim during power up.
    • Fixed an intermittent issue with units failing to boot with an SD card inserted.

Easy to do. Directions under the download link. Short version......Download to pc computer, open download and direct it to install on sd card. Read instructions on install to your unit.....a must do, don’t mess it up.

In order to get the update for the 7610 I had to manually edit the URL.

The one it goes to as programmed is:
    http://download.garmin.com/software/...d_20171113.exe

I had to manually edit it to read:
    http://download.garmin.com/software/...d_20180214.exe

The source page that doesn't have a link is:
    https://www8.garmin.com/support/down...ls.jsp?id=8744

I usually wait a week or two anyways to see if there are any unintended consequences. Sure they will get that fixed before then.

Auto power up is a feature you can turn off and on, has been there many software updates ago. At least on 7600 units, exact selections are Home, Settings, System, Auto Power Up. Is yours not responding to this selection?

Thank you for the response Todd,

No is is not, the auto power on feature is turned off in my 1042. I have contacted Garmin about this and they said that they would get back to me, that was 3 weeks ago.
It's not a big deal but,, as the battery is charging I prefer to remove the power from the unit, so when I plug the unit back in with the screen cover in place I'm worried the unit will be on till next day and drain the battery.

    Regards
    C//

I updated my GPSMAP 7608's to the latest version and I can't find the Waypoint and Tracks button to save or delete a track. Does anyone know where I can find it?
