upgrading TM on older tracker pro angler

I am planning on upgrading the 12v TM to a 24v TM on my 2011 Tracker Pro angler 16 (http://www.boattest.com/review/track..._pro-angler-16). This model isn't built as beefy as the newer tracker tournament editions and I am concerned the bow may not be able to handle the additional torque from the larger TM. I'd also like to add a recessed TM trey and possibly a day box on the front deck. Before I do the swap I am hoping to hear from those who have done this on their similar model tracker. Any insight is appreciated for I don't want to make the upgrades only to end up cracking the welds on the bow. Thanks.

I have a 2009 PT 170 TX. I ran a 36V Motor Guide Tour for 7 years before it stopped working and then I had it rebuilt to 24V to reduce the weight of one deep cycle battery.

Wayne - Have you installed a recessed TM trey or any additional storage boxes to the front deck of your 170?

You might have to upgrade the wiring to 6 gauge if it don't have it already.

Great choice, this model is good for setting up as electric boat. It’s lighter than some, and it sits really flat on the water, like say the RT boats. If that’s a big deal to you. What motor is that on the back?

I sold the 30 horse and now looking at which transom mount TM to put on the back. I decided to keep the 12v 45 lb bow mounted trolling motor and will run two batteries in parallel to get me through the day. Now trying to decide on whether to go w/ a 55 lb 12 volt troller on the back or step it up to a 24 volt 80 lb trust motor. There is room in the bilge for the batteries, but I'm thinking the 80 lb may be overkill for my applications and it is considerably more expensive. Thoughts?

I just picked up a new MK Traxxis 80 to put on the transom. The boat is coming along nicely.
