200 HP VMAX noise

I have a 2007 Yamaha VMAX HPDI. When running down the lake it almost sounds like I can hear a whistling noise from the motor. No power loss, no rough idling, no problems what so ever. Any ideas what it could be?

I had a high pitch whistle and I found that it was coming from the rear pedastal butt seat.

I figured out my Talons make a whistling noise at times. I have a 2009 200HP VMAX HPDI too.

I don’t have any talons or powerpoles and I don’t fish with any seats. I am pretty sure it’s the motor just can’t figure out where.

I have the same motor and I also think it is the cowling. No performance issues.

Have same motor, its the vented shroud that whistles at times on mine..
