    Mercury kill switch lanyard?

How do you stretch a mercury lanyard and make it stay? I’ve seen people with these but I can’t figure it out. I always have mine hooked up but I hate reattaching it all the time after putting my life jacket on. I’ve nailed it to a board stretched as far as it’ll go for a week and it went right back to normal.

I understand that but, I’ve seen Elites with them done this way.

Walmart sells a universal one, get a second one and zip tie them together to make it longer.

Boil water and dunk in for just a few seconds. Repeat until desired length. Do not insert plastic ends.

I put a small carabiner one end, when I get where I'm going, I unclip. When I'm going anywhere on plane, clip it back on to a dlink on my pfd. Works for me, and means I dont have to take PFD off to move away from console.

I had a paracordbracelet made with a d ring sewn into it. I put it on my right wrist and I have no issues with it being too short.

BPS Platinum life jackets have a D-ring that is detachable from the vest(just un-snap when necessary) Except I bought a new one yesterday and that feature is on the wrong side. Who designs their stuff anyway? It would be O.K. if I had a Brit boat.

Forget you have it attached, then get up to go to front of your boat a few times. It will stretch out. Don't ask me how I know.

I put it in boiling water and it works! I just need to do it again.
