    2008 Triton 21x2 help

Ok guys I have a Triton 21x2 with a 2014 Mercury 250 pro xs. I’m running a 25p merc fury prop. My top speed isn’t where I want it and it doesn’t handle like it should around 67mph. I was told I should be running low 70s with it set up how it is now on the manual jack plate. Feel free to give me a call at 5028179706 if you have any input or info to help with my boat set up, or post on here! Thanks

26 tempest worked by Mark C or his razor 3 would be best prop for that boat. 70 tops is all you will see on that boat. big and heavy. 3.5 to 4" below pad is best set up

Jonmay is correct for a loaded speed but I have seen 74 solo in my 2007 with a stock tempest 25 but I believe my tempest was far better than most out of the box and they usually require some persuasion from someone with Mark’s skills. My tempest is 3.375 below but jonmay is spot on it suffered a little less with a load when it was about 1/4” deeper. Full tank full wells and a partner in warm weather and 68-70 is all you get. If you are fairly loaded down you may want to try the fury in a 24 or the tempest in a 25 since the fury’s run 0.5-1 inch taller than what they are labeled because they slip so little. I recently tried a 24 fury 4 and Holeshot and mid were exceptional but 71 mph was all I could do solo and was turning 6150 to do it but I love that prop as a loaded summer prop it does exactly what I was told it would do.

I should also add that after the last time I raised the plate it started walking just as you described at about 67 whereas with the tempest set deeper it didn’t walk til around 69 in both cases the walk was predictable and controllable albeit aggravating enough that I typically find myself running 66-67 only.

Fury 4 25P-26P run 73mph at 6000rpms 1 person half-3/4 tank of fuel light load livewells full. Very quick woke this boat up felt very stable controlled. Start with all PVS plugs open then go from there. Boat stays about 71-73 when another person hops in.
