    The first time American companies really imported steel in volume. 500,000 steel workers went on strike in our country...half a million workers basically shut down America forcing the import of steel from Japan and South Korea.

    How much $ in aluminum goes into the typical 18-20’ tin boat? I have no idea what a plate of .100 or .125 aluminum costs or all of those other thinner parts that may go into the construction of the boat. Guessing most nice multi species boats still have wood floors so the primary cost would be in the hull.
