Getting a g force eliminator prop nut off?

I’m trying to replace my prop on my Minn Kota ulterra. I can not get off the g force to take the prop off. Figured it would turn because all I did was twist it on. What am I over looking?

I had to put a rubber strap wrench on mine to get it off and I only hand tightened it. I keep one on the boat now.

Had to use channel locks on mine the other day. When your TM is spinning it’s gradually tightening it to an extent.

Channel locks or a pipe wrench is what I use

If you have a broken shear pin you will need to drill it out. I doesn't ruin your Eliminator prop nut.

This is what makes this place great. I twisted so hard that I’ll be sore tomorrow. Didn’t even think to use rubber wrench. But at 11:30 tonight it’s off. Thanks for the help and quick responses

I can get the nut off mine easy, but for the life of me, I can't remove the prop

Just turn and twist a bit. It will come off. Fittings are tight.

The reason I like them is the fact that you can (usually) take off the prop off by hand to check for line etc.

He shows ya how to drill it out in this one but I agree with his statement about the chances of breaking one of the big pins, you'll probably destroy the plastic prop before shearing one of those pins off completely.

Take it off every couple of trips and you will be good, keeps it lose. Should it get to tight a rubber stap wrench is your best friend.

I wipe a thin film of plumber’s grease on the O ring before tightening it down. Never had an issue getting it off.

I put Vaseline on the O-ring before installing it.

Your depth finders work off Sonar. That bounces a sound wave off the bottom or anything in between especially a fish's air bladder. Worrying about a few percent of a dB from a prop nut is kind of foolish. I'm sure if you slap some mass against a prop with an O ring it'll be somewhat quieter. If you're in a stealth mode, stay back, be quiet, turn off your Sonar units.
