Need advice

I just picked up an 03 Rude 225HO Ficht. I do not want to hear any bashing of this motor please. The issues are from it being shipped. Upon receiving the motor there was visible damage to the cavitation plate. Once the freight comp inspector came we discovered the starboard upper and lower cowling smashed in. Just today after getting a chance to look at it more discovered one of the starboard side injectors is broken and all 3 starboard spark plugs. The guy I bought it from did insure it for full value of the motor. I've found the replacement cowlings. I'm sure the LU can be fixed. Am I able to get this on a rack and run to see if there are more issues with the broken injector?

hold on......cause unless I'm mistaken, you cant ship/insure used stuff.

Yes you can rack it hook up a porta tank and prime the system apply power and turn on the key. check for leakage but don't start. You are in a bit of trouble though. The injectors are no longer available from BRP. There are two dealers that have them in stock one is in Kansas and the other is in Washington. Suggested retail is $978.. You will need EVdiags and the coefficient for the injector to replace it. Pennman may have a used one. 7709128866

I've found several used ones on eBay reasonably priced. MarineEngine.com has new for $500. When buying injectors don't they come with a flashdrive or something like. If not how do you get the coefficient? I've also found em used on GreenBay prop for $75.

I can't confirm or deny the accuracy of this product. I have the factory version. If you purchase it from an online parts house it should come with the info. Can't say about an Ebay part.

Understood. What about getting the coefficient?

New it will come with it. Used you can call Evinrude or see a local dealer they may help you out.
