For those who have installed LED's on their aluminum gunnels and underneath storage lids, does the adhesive on the LED strips adhere well to the aluminum and stay forever, or should I use double sided tape to secure the light strips? Thanks for your comments.

The ones I bought from superbrightleds were backed with 3M adhesive and haven't come loose in 4 years.
This is what i used. Mine had a 3M backing but it wasn't near as good as this stuff. Only had mine on for a few months though.
