Wonder why they didn't come out with a 250 at the same time? Not horribly ugly, but will take some getting used too.
I think the G2 looks better.
That being said, I couldn't care less how it looks. I'm more interested in reliability.

Yeah it is! That will take some getting used to for sure. I think the G2 looks way better.
Jesus that thing is ugly. 1.85 gear ratio too
Looks like they are trying to go the Evinrude path of a modular upper cowl.
Mercury FanBoys: The new Evinrude G2 is UGLY!
Mercury Marine: Hold my beer
I hope the Pro XS versions have better graphics.
Why they gotta mess with perfection... Ugly.

3.4 V6 in 175,200 and 225, did not mention anything about a 250 in the new block. Will offer different colors to match your boat.
It sounded to me like they're going to do something similar to yamaha with the F and VF(Sho), especially since they said the 2.4 vrod is no more. This release is more for pontoons, pleasure boats, and offshore guys. The next release, possibly bigger pro xs 4 strokes, will be aimed at the bass guys
I don't care what it looks like. I wanted a Mercury option for a larger HP 4 stroke and they made one. I want the fuel economy and the reliability of a 4 stroke as well as not dealing with 2 stroke oil. It's not exactly like the existing motor design is something I look at and think "Wow I really like the look of that motor!"
dear god, Did someone with 2 lazy eyes design the looks of that thing?
I don’t think it looks bad at all.
