Cool Well here we go - let the wait begin - Time to Order a new Caracal

I have reached a deal to sell my PII - this is such a bitter sweet moment. The PII is an incredible boat, and i have loaded it up to the ultimate dream machine. Fortunately some one else out there saw it and agreed its the boat they have to have!

We reached an agreement and the deal will close in a few weeks.

    OH NO......Boatless again.

    Do i buy a bay boat, a bass boat......I don't know....what to do.

Well after much consideration I have decided to order a new Caracal

There are many reasons for the decision, but one is it's kind of a bucket list thing to order a brand spanking new bass boat!

Financially, dumb move - however we only get on lap around this place. Enjoy it.

Here's the build spec's I sent to Sherm - Let me know if you think i am missing anything.

I will be finalizing the order this week - and now the 14 week wait begins.......

Only thing different I'd do is get Helix units with 360 instead of Solix. Cant wait to see it, should be about perfect

+2 I would research solix/onix before you order these! They are basically the same thing!

Very similar to what I have ordered except I went with the Yamaha power plant. I am also having the removable console installed. My dealer said it was a 1200.00 upgrade. I would suggest using the balzout mount up front, I previously had the large Ram mount and could never get it tight enough to keep the graph in position while running and especially in rough waters. I would also get the shoot thru transducer as well in the hull. That way you will always have depth while running. I also went with a transducer shield and saver on the trolling motor. I found that was awesome for protecting my transducer in stumpy and rocky areas. Hope this helps.

Me too Zoomworms! It’s going to be my retirement boat. Of all the new boats that I have owned, I am more excited about this build than any other.

It’s a separate transducer that ties in with the regular Side Imaging transducer. It’s not very expensive to have it added on. Seams like it was only 150.00 or less. Well worth the extra money.

Veey nicely equipped, I agree on the Balzout vs. the RAM. My 17 Eyra had the RAM mount with a 12” Helix. I just switched to the Balzout last week, like it much better. I like the padded front deck, not very expensively add.

Do you think the padded deck will develop memory spots over the years?

I see your in Fla. Do yourself a favor and order it with the aluminum trailer. I got the aluminum trailer last year when I ordered the my Jag. It is an awesome trailer that looks great and if you need to launch in brackish water you won't feel sick to your stomach about it. congrats on the new rig too

+1 on the aluminum trailer, much easier to maintain on my Lynx. You may look at the Precision Sonar mount on the console, it's a nice piece.

Sounds great. I got a Helix 12 SI on my dash and kind of wished I would have went with a 10 in dash. I suggest the café/small wind-screen.
