BPS has the carbonlite rod & reel 2.0 combo on sale (Spring fever sale?) starting Friday for $119.00. I thought that was a great deal!

I really enjoyed these rods last year. I have crucials, Zodias, Compres, and I consistently found myself picking these up. Nice price, nice feel and readily available in many local shops.

I second this! Unfortunately I can't get rods shipped to Canada from them otherwise I'd be buying.

When you can get the Duckett Ghost on sale for 79 or so give one a try. Only thing is I wish there was a model with a shorter handle for jerkbaits etc.

Carbon lite. Best thing about them is; if you break one, bring it back to BPS with the receipt and get a new one. No questions asked

I've tried about all of them in that price range. Dobyns fury and Falcon bucco are some of the best all purpose rods in that price range. Fenwick HMG may even be a step above those for $99. The Ethos are fine for moving baits but aren't that sensitive to me. Same goes for the tatulas, lightning rods and ducketts.

I compare Lightning rods to Chevrolet. Comparatively they make a good rod for all wallets inexpensively. There are better, but there are a lot worse.

Try the Dobyns fury or even the new colt series. You will be surprised at how good
both lines actually are and well within the price range you are looking.

Falcon, JC or SR for less than $100. You can find ScIII mojo’s for $100. Fury is a good one too.

You would be amazed the line up that Ugly Stik has, at $39.99 each. 5' to 7.5", casting, spinning, foam, cork, ultra light to heavy.......but............they weigh a couple more ounces then a $300 rod. Most bass guys can't handle that.

Berkley has the same thing. $29-$89. But no cool enough.

Guys are talking about "skipping" baits ? You guys are acheiving this with a 7'6" rod? Wow and heavy? Double wow..
I have a straight 6' medium Veritas with a lews 5:1 reel . Thats all I use it for is skipping docks and pockets .
How are you guys standing on the bow and side skipping a 7'6" heavy rod? Even Aaron Martin's uses a 6' medium and sometimes a 6' spincast.. am I missing something here?
