Local news with sheriffs office just reported 17 people were killed this afternoon. Gunman was 19 years old and is in custody at BSO headquarters.
We all know what the problem is. Is what separates the USA from most other civilised countries. Easy access to rapid fire weapons and and just too many guns in the wrong peoples hands period.
How do you solve it ?
Turn schools into prisons with police on every door and metal detectors everywhere ?
Arm all the teachers ?
Arm all the kids ?
Ban all guns ?
Round up all guns and let people keep only single shot rifles, shotguns and revolvers ?
I know one thing what we are doing now is not working.
As terrible as it is to say , At some point there is number and im not sure what it is, maybe a 1000 kids need to die at once before they will somekind of action regarding this. Sad !
I don't always find schooling fish but when I do I backlash on the first cast
So, why is the shooter still alive?

If a bunch of rules/laws were removed and parents and teachers friends and neighbors, whoever were once again allowed to discipline these kids at an early age up to the day they become adults it just might solve some of what's going on. Sure, there are going to be some that say hey leave my kid alone, but and that is a big but, what will that same parent say when his kid is involved in something like what has been happening. Metal detectors, gun control, LEO on school grounds or where ever are not the answer, maybe a band aid, but sure as hell not the cure.
Garbage..The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. Pray all you want but until we back it with definitive actions the slaughter continues. Remember guns don't kill. People with guns kill like it or not it's the plain truth.
I and many of my friends (and I'm sure, many here) had guns in our rooms and on window racks in our trucks as teenagers...
What has changed since those days?

Hatcreek, you hit it on the head in your other post. No communication, loss of family values. Back before TV,Computers, families used to talk in the evening after dinner. Now no one talks till a commercial is on OR even IF everyone is in the same room. Too busy playing video games or texting or here is twenty bucks, go away.
We pay for police protection to watch over shopping centers, 7 eleven convience stores, etc. but not our kids. Something's wrong with that.
Every school should have multiple FULL Time Police officers! With the amount of property taxes we all pay, the money is there already, maybe some of these Superintendents shouldn't be paid 200K + per year salaries, and lets spend that money on security.
As for guns, I'm an NRA member, Own a house full of hunting rifles, shotguns for hunting and handguns for personal protection. However, I feel only Military and Police should have AR style rifles. I know that's not a popular opinion and most here see it differently and I respect those differing views.
You people can bitch all you want.....nothing is going to change. It will happen again soon by a copy cat shooter. Our socialistic trend will continue to protect the guilty. And no one here will lift a finger to change it. What if it were one of your kids today?
Prayers for all involved
We as a society have sent the message that kids are untouchable discipline wise from the start of school to and including the judicial system. Combine that with a decline in morals, religion and a live and let live attitude this is where we end up. Until society changes and we hold people, from the youngest to the oldest accountable for their actions we are doomed.
All sheep are eventually led to slaughter
It starts with sanctity of life. We as a society place no value on life anymore. Abortion if you want it , having kids and not placing them first in your life. Leaving it up to grandma and grandpa to do the job that is yours, So that you can be all about yourself and nothing else. Gangs who kill for fun and profit. The list goes on and on. We need to teach our children that every life is precious and is the most valuable gift. How we change our views as a country on this I don't know. I do know that we cannot lay the blame on the young adults and children. They are only doing the things that they see adults doing also, with no discipline or swift punishment for their actions. As a Christian I pray that we can reclaim the values and beliefs that made this a great country before it is to late.
