No prayers on my end, pretty much a waste of time.

That said, where are these kids getting the guns from they’re shooting up the schools with?

Exactly... Procreating has far outpaced parenting.

Communication skills... not texting, tweeting, bookfacing, etc., but the actual ability to physically speak to and convey ideas and feelings to another human being, face-to-face, have deteriorated tremendously over the past couple of decades. Likewise, far too many kids have absolutely no idea how to handle adversity; whether that be losing in sports, rejection by peers, failure at ____________ (fill in the blank) or even just being told "No" occasionally (other than situations like that in the thread about the asinine rules at a school dance). They don't deal well with such things because they so rarely have to face them... They simply haven't been taught.

Toss the evil that exists in the world into this void of life skills and here we are...

We've sheltered, secluded, placated and pacified these kids to death.

    it can be turned around.

So it’s safe to say he might have just strolled into any gun store and purchased it (them)?

    Prayers for all involved

Every school needs metal detectors ASAP and an officer seems like it would be a well spent expense ... my post office has one and they can tell when you have a large metal object .. does not go off for keys or jewelry belts ect

Punishment should make people scared to do this crap. Hanging till scavenger cleans them up for the killer that survives. The law abiding people will be the ones to suffer. You can’t stop the whacos, but you can make others think before they do something this terrible. News says suspect in custody. If there is no doubt he did it hang him or her publicly tomorrow.

I many any parents just knew how little teachers can do for discipline there would be mass exodus of students tomorrow. We just received a new student that was removed from one school on Monday. He has already threatened a teacher life and her family. Kicked female principal, jerked classroom window blinds down and removed the rod and hit the teacher they had watching him and he still there. See crap and hear about it often and I am in a GREAT SCHOOL. We don’t get support on up the line unless parents complain, then it is the teacher fault
Folks love your kids. They need an advocate and teachers try but you see what results sometimes. I pray every morning for our school safety.
Unfortunately it is not if these things may happen, often when nowadays.

Prayers for for the family, friends and students at the school in Florida.

Prayers for all the families. There are no easy answers, you would have to have a metal detector at every door, and window if they could be opened. A good start would be to tell people that there is an armed person, or persons on the school grounds. THIS IS NOT A GUN FREE ZONE.

It's my understand the school had at least one armed Leo at all times, including today. Metal detectors are a drop in the bucket compared to other wasteful spending.

If this doesn't hit the nail on the head it damn sure gave it a heck of a glancing blow.

    So very sad.

Excerpts from a nearby 14 year old that was planning a school attack. Check out what the 14 year old had in his bedroom. Xxxx placed to hide name.

UNIONTOWN (KDKA) — The mother of a teenager who allegedly planned to shoot several students at Uniontown High School is now facing charges herself.
Forty-five-year-old xxxx, is being charged for knowingly and intentionally delivering or providing a firearm to a minor.
Xxxx is the mother of a 14-year-old boy who was arrested in January after a student overheard the boy talking about shooting four students at Uniontown Area High School.
The student informed his parents and police about the threat, and state troopers then went to the suspect’s home to interview the suspect and his parents. They also obtained a search warrant for the home.
When troopers searched the teenage suspect’s bedroom, they found one semi-automatic rifle, one shotgun, two lever-action rifles, one revolver, one crossbow and bulk ammunition for all weapons. Troopers also found throwing knives and two machetes.
According to a criminal complaint, when authorities interviewed xxxx, she said she let her son keep firearms in his bedroom to teach him responsibility and to “let him grow up.”
