    Rod tie downs on I class

    I have an 2008 20i the front deck rod tie downs are looking mighty sad they look like they could break at any given moment.. Has anyone changed theirs out yet if so with what ones... ?

    are they the retractable bungie style? if so, you can buy new bungie material and thread it through the hole and attach it to the anchor screw where the original is. you may also tie a knot or 2 in the bungie you currently have to shorten them up if they are just stretched out.

    they are the retractable bungie style, but they are in very bad shape..

    You can order them through skeeter. They were around $20 each when I bought them.

    I was with my wife at Joann Fabrics and saw some bungee material in multiple colors. Picked up some for about $3 or $4 bucks. Worked great!!

    I got bungee cord at the hardware store. Only cost a couple bucks

    I buy a roll of bugee material in marine section at walmart. It's made by attwood and is black and a little thicker diameter than the original stuff on your boat. I always upgraded with this type, just be sure to tie good double knots and cinch them down good on the anchor bolts found inside the rod lockers so that they don't come loose. Works great and stronger than the ones you have now.

    I changed mine out , it’s not hard . Reach thru rod lockers, I replaced with next size up and color matched boat too
