    Questions about Oznium Bolts

I am wanted to do a deck lighting project on my 294 Stratos. I have about decided to use the bolt type lights in red. Here my question. should I go with 3w or is 1w enough and if I do 1w should I put that on a dimmer. If anyone has these lights and could give me some direction, I would appreciate it. Thank you.

I used the 1w in red and in my opinion it does not need the dimmer.

3 watt with a dimmer. I had them on my last boat and they worked great. I had the 1 watt under the seats in the cockpit, but on the dimmer they weren't bright enough. The 1 watt MAY be bright enough for the deck, at full power. I'd just go with the 3 watt on a dimmer to be safe.

3 watt is stainless steel and has heavier wire, 1 watt has a thinner outer lip giving it a more flush look, either will work, if you are actually going to fish at night with then on I still recommend a dimmer with either one

personal preference: with lens is more of a spot like V shape and no lens is a wider angle, I have heard that the lens is easy to knock off

1 WATT no dimmer and no lenses. I have 3 watt in the rod box, livewells and front storage box. I was looking for the flush look, and these lights almost disappear on my silver boat. The last picture shows the bolt about an inch from the left. Almost undetectable!

Just installed the 1 watt on my deck and under console from oznium. In the compartments I used 6 inch strip lights for the middle and 24 inch for the sides. Installed dimmer switch too
Seems to be plenty bright. Haven't had it out of the garage yet though. Too cold here in Eastern Washingron still. Tried to upload images bu it says my files are too large. Not sure how to do it. Mayne I can pm them to you or text them to you

I just installed the 3mm bolts. I didn't have an 11mm drill bit. I used a 7/16 bit. I first drilled a small pilot hole with a smaller drill bit, then I used the 7/16 and drilled in reverse until I got through the gel coat. The project turned out great. I'll post pics later.

Great info....how tight is the fit? Did you have to silicone or do they clip in etc?
