Mounting external transducer on Ultrex...hdi or total scan??

Any one have success or failure mounting external transducer
Hdi for Gen2 or totalscan for Gen 3 on Ultrex?? Wondering because the trolling motor pivots 380 degrees and any resistance from cords could be problems?? ALSO, HOPING TNIS MAY SOLVE SOME INTERFERENCE PROBS, BY IT BEING EXTERNAL..IT HELPED WHEN I DISABLED MY US2 ON MY MAXXUM??

I've mounted several HDI's. Don't suggest the totalscan or side scan for the front. Moving the trolling motor distorts the picture.

Do you still use air compressor hose and let it hang or is there a groove in the shaft to run the cable?

Neither, it just goes up the shaft like a standard cable. The motor will only turn about 375degrees, so with enough slack it's not going to break the cable like the electric steers.
