    Lake Gaston in March?

Hey guys, trying to plan a fishing trip with my dad and was curious if y'all think Gaston will be good around the 2nd week of March or will the water still be too cold? I prefer to do shallow water/dock flipping in the coves and avoid the main lake. Any locals on here with any insight? Thanks!

Not sure if the would be a dock bite but I have caught fish there in March before. Things should be starting to warm up, no freezing temps on the horizon and highs in the 60s and 70s.

Used to drive down to Gaston from Canada every spring break, 2nd week in March. Some years it snowed, and some years I got sun burnt...but we always caught a few bass, usually along rip rap banks.

Gaston in March can be awesome, it's usually not a shallow dock flipping bite.

I’d drive a little up river and fish Kerr.

1000000 Times better than Gaston in my opinion.

I think Gaston is a better lake than Kerr, but it can be tougher than Kerr that time of year
