I fished it yesterday and found 56 by the discharge and 42 at the railroad tracks. Brutally tough fishing with only catching a white bass. Hopefully things get better before next weekends tournament. If anyone has some advice it would be greatly appreciated .

I loved that lake. Caught some good fish, not giants but good 16 - 17 inchers. Green pumpkin/blue jig and live target craw crankbait in the same colors so crawdads must be molting or getting close to doing so.

No worries. I’ll be back soon.

Unfortunately i I have a tournament at Carlyle this weekend or I’d be back at Springfield again.

Fished the Big Lincoln Land Tournament a couple weeks back.I thought it was pretty tough, had 10lbs the first day,and 5lbs the next. Winners had big bags both days, not sure what they were doing. We were skipping docks and dragging jigs in the center portion of the lake. Tried to stay near clean water, never could get a top water bite going.

    Joe,

I fished for a little while last Sunday. Water temps were 80 - 81 early in the day. Visibility was good 2 - 3 ft. We caught several shorts along sea walls on crankbaits. The humidity started to rise and we were off the water by 9:30. Good Luck, I'll be up there the next 2 weekends.

sounds about like my experience Friday.

Also, caught 3 cats back to back to back on a crank. The area past I-55 past the Springfield marina going straight.

You fished the shallow end of the lake. I will be back up there this weekend and next weekend. Hopefully my Dad's boat is running and I'll let you know how we do.

I did start out shallow in the morning but I also fished the other end of the lake and a lot of places in between.

Is there less grass this year? I seem to recall there being more grass last year when I went to the parks before I actually ventured on the lake.
